I’m a full stack web developer with a focus on building tools for everyday use. I really enjoy building something that I know will help someone manage a real world problem and make their life a little easier. I find that I really enjoy finding ways to take back-end data and organize it and display it on the front-end in ways that make it accessible and user-friendly for the user. Finding connections between different types of data and revealing different ways to look at information are what get me really excited.
I have a background in theater and comedy and I find that there is just about nothing that the basic tenets of improv don’t help me with. The general rule for doing stand-up is to talk about what you know, and I find the key to making that work is to be constantly expanding what I know. I love to throw myself into projects in order to find new and unexpected ways to solve problems and expand on ideas.
No matter the medium, I love building things. Whether it's installing a new kitchen counter, soldering together my desk at home, cooking a meal from scratch, or renovating an antique secretery desk into a home bar. The feeling of looking at something you made with your own hands is irreplicable and that's one of the major things that draws me to programming.
